A mango is a juicy stone fruit (drupe) produced from numerous species of tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, cultivated mostly for their edible fruit. Over 30 different varieties of mango are grown, the most important one is Alphonso, which is rated best in the world. It is known for its strong aroma, intense peel coloration, delicious taste, and high nutritive value (due to its high content of vitamin C, β-carotene and minerals).
